Every year, world-famous Antwerp Zoo welcomes over one million visitors, all of whom pass through the monumental yet quite narrow entrance gate. Until recently, ticket control was still carried out manually. That typically caused problems on busy days when it was never easy to distinguish whether a ticket had already been validated or not.
In cooperation with Multicap and its integrator, a decent and future-proof solution has been found! We provided the Zoo with industrial handheld terminals in a secure and reliable wireless environment. The Zoo management simply had to incorporate a barcode onto its tickets. As such, the Zoo can easily draw statistics on peak moments, etc. And ticket controllers now no longer have a hard time catching fraudulent visitors!
