Mourik N.V., part of the international holding Mourik and specialised in civil engineering, industrial services and soil and groundwater remediation, presented Multicap a new challenge in the beginning of 2008.

Mr. Wouter Vanbrabant (Mourik N.V.) explains:

"To support a preventive maintenance and a quick intervention on site for the soil and groundwater remediation systems,  Mourik had developed a telemetry and alert system. This system proved to be very valuable for many years but could use some optimization considering the newest fast development in communication technology. To do so Mourik set up a partnership in 2008 with Multicap to develop a new monitoring system based on GPRS technology with a built in SMS alarm system."

Rock Werchter 2008 - Multicap is part of it!!

De weide van Rock Werchter zal weer naar jaarlijkse gewoonte daveren. Met haar meer dan 80.000 bezoekers per dag is het reeds drie jaar op rij uitgeroepen tot het beste festival ter wereld. Sinds 2004 werkt Multicap mee aan de operationele werking van dit festival. Samen met EML Productions, die instaan voor de operationele werking van dit toonaangevend festival. Dit jaar zal er eveneens voor de groepen die komen optreden een hotspot worden voorzien via de nieuwe 802.11n standaard.

WiFi netwerk van Meru houd stand in de overbezette 2,4 GHz band te Luxemburg

De grootste leverancier van horeca oplossingen in Luxemburg kon tussen de vele andere netwerken in de 2,4 GHz band zijn systeem niet meer bedrijfszeker laten werken. Na het testen van verschillende WiFi oplossingen werd er beslist om vanaf heden deze WiFi netwerken uit te rusten met het Meru systeem: en met succes!!!!

Nuborgh College (NL): Multicap diensten en Meru WLAN in nieuwe schoolcampus

Multicap voerde zopas een uitgebreide site survey uit in het in aanbouw zijnde Nuborgh College in het Nederlandse Oostenlicht. Deze nieuwe campus, die klaar moet zijn in januari 2008, wordt in samenwerking met de Nederlandse integrator Jada uitgerust met meer dan 50 Meru Access points en de bijhorende Meru Controller. Op die manier zal dit ultramoderne project kunnen beschikken over een centraal beheerd Meru indoor WLAN dat werkelijk vlekkeloos Voice-over-IP ondersteunt.

Armstrong SA implementeert 5 Multicap Digi UMTS routers voor remote monitoring

A couple of months ago, we announced both the release of the first UMTS 4-port router and we described the first projects realized through this new product. We did that to emphasize the versatility of the Digi UMTS ConnectPortWAN. And we also expressed our hopes and expectations for future realizations with it.

De Aartselaarse draadloze specialist Multicap BVBA en het internationaal gerenommeerde Sarens NV gingen begin 2007 een boeiende en uitdagende samenwerking aan. DE UITDAGING De gespecialiseerde kranen van Sarens worden wereldwijd verhuurd en ingezet. Totnogtoe beschikte het bedrijf niet over een manier om online te kunnen opvolgen waar zijn kranen zich exact bevonden en hoeveel uren ze effectief werden gebruikt. Een geautomatiseerd systeem voor lokalisering en opvolging moest hier een uitweg bieden.

100 Mbps Full-duplex draadloze verbinding tussen een drukkerij en de naburige publishingfirma (NL)

Begin augustus realiseerden Multicap en zijn gewaardeerde Nederlandse reseller A² Networks een 100 Mbps full-duplex draadloze punt-tot-punt verbinding tussen een drukkerij en een naburige publishingfirma in het Oost-Nederlandse Doetinchem. Deze verbinding over een afstand van 400 meter werd opgezet met de uiterst performante en 100% veilige Tsunami GX.200, één van de "wireless backhaul" oplossingen van de draadloze pionier die Proxim intussen echt wel is.

Voor de gelegenheid wordt er immers een draadloos netwerk over UMTS opgezet tussen de 15 controleposten langs het parcours en de start- en aankomstplaats in Bornem.

SDV: International freight forwarder with UMTS/HSDPA VPN connection

SDV is an international freight forwarder and logistics specialist with its central IT department in Antwerp (Belgium) and several branch offices, of which one on Schiphol, the National Airport of The Netherlands. A couple of months ago, SDV changed locations on Schiphol with the unfortunate consequence that there is no leased line yet between the new Schiphol building and the IT department in Antwerp with its servers, etc. Luckily, Multicap could provide a reliable temporary alternative with its Digi UMTS router.

Mercedes Car Assistance Center (CAC): 100% reliable wireless Voice-over-IP with Multicap

To come across the end customer's wishes and needs, Multicap here worked like it always does: in a tight cooperation with its integrator! The end customer, in this case a major Mercedes Car Assistance Center in the Belgian City of Turnhout, was no longer satisfied with its combination of GSM and DECT telephony for its account managers. They had to carry two portable phones and it was for example not possible to see whether they already had a line or not. Therefore, a reliable alternative was more than welcome!

Antwerp Zoo: Manual ticket control replaced by WLAN-enabled handheld terminals

Every year, world-famous Antwerp Zoo welcomes over one million visitors, all of whom pass through the monumental yet quite narrow entrance gate. Until recently, ticket control was still carried out manually. That typically caused problems on busy days when it was never easy to distinguish whether a ticket had already been validated or not.

Last year, we restyled our company brochure in which we put it like this: if it's wireless, unusual and challenging, it's Multicap you need to contact! And that is exactly what the Belgian pest control company Ondes did. It had already been looking for quite a while for a solution to optimize its mouse traps. Installed in dark and remote places in food and pharmaceutical companies, they typically caused a problem of management, efficiency and labour-intensitivity. Ondes knew that technology could provide the solution, but tests so far had been unsuccessful.

World-famous nuclear research laboratory CERN uses Proxim AP-4000 Mesh Access Points

Last year, the Geneva-based nuclear research laboratory CERN (European Centre for Nuclear Research) bought 60 dual-radio Proxim ORiNOCO AP-4000 Mesh Access Points from Multicap. This organisation - in whose buildings the world-famous Dan Brown bestseller 'Angels & Demons' starts - chose our Access Points because of the available Mesh* functionality. That feature allows CERN to extend the range of the laboratory's Wi-Fi network and to provide continuous monitoring of the lab's calorimeters as the scientists descend into the underground cavern (100m underground!) to conduct experiments.

Press conference opening largest wireless Mesh outdoor network on Brussels university campus

On November 16, Multicap attended the press conference on which Brussels Regional Informatics Minister Guy Vanhengel launched a prestigious wireless project on the Brussels University Campus. Thanks to the Ministry's initiative, students and all other campus visitors enjoy the comfort of free wireless Internet access in the university park. Multicap and its partner Imtech Telecom were selected to provide the necessary infrastructure ensuring wireless coverage that would equal broadband wired internet connections. Moreover, the technology used had to support both WiMAX and Wi-Fi so that thorough testing could be done with free internal IP telephony for the university staff.

Sheraton Brussels Airport Hotel: Multicap provides successful integrated alerting solution

In the past, the Sheraton Hotel at Brussels International Airport used to use Belgacom Semadigit to send all of the technical and fire alerts to the responsible persons. Because of the fact that the majority of the staff was thus carrying two devices with them (semaphone and GSM), Sheraton decided to look for a solution to send the alerts by SMS. It contacted Multicap which, after analysis of the existing system, advised to use the central management software package "message master Enterprise Alert". After thorough testing and approval by Sheraton, Multicap realised a connection through a serial protocol between the fire and technical central on the one hand and Enterprise Alert on the other hand.

Multicap TransCommBox conquers Dutch public transport market

As a long time partner of Multicap, Prodata Systems convinced with Veolia yet another major new customer for their ticketing application. Like Arriva, the bus company covering most of the north of The Netherlands, Veolia recently decided to deploy Multicap’s CommBox on its bus connections. As such, all major players on the Dutch public transport market have now become, indirectly, Multicap customers.

Clear Channel: de juiste reclame en niets dan de juiste reclame

De volgende bedenking had de argeloze bezoeker van Carrefour zich tot voor kort kunnen maken tijdens het parkeren: “Tiens, dat ronddraaiend reclamepaneel doet het precies niet meer?!” Sinds 2003 ziet diezelfde bezoeker enkel nog perfect functionerende panelen. Zoniet is hij beter op zijn hoede want hij loopt het risico dadelijk van de sokken te worden gelopen door een aanstormende technicus van Clear Channel. Die net daarvoor per SMS een automatische foutmelding had zien binnenlopen op de centrale server.
