Stratex eclipse
Licensed flexible and ultra reliable solutions
General
Eclipse is based upon the highly successful split-mount architecture pioneered by Stratex Networks in the early nineties. This architecture consists of a compact indoor mounted unit connected by a single coaxial cable to an environmentally hardened outdoor radio frequency unit, which is mounted directly to a high-performance parabolic antenna.
Unique solution
The uniqueness of the Eclipse solution can be summarized as follows:
- One 1RU node supports up to three ODU’s
- Extended 2RU node supports up to six ODU’s
- Nodes supports star and ring configurations - Choice of modulation and capacity via software
- NxE1 rates up to 103xE1 provide an alternative to migrating to SDH; at the moment, we can go up to 1.6Gbps on one link!
- Choice of E1, E3, STM-1 and Ethernet customer interfaces
- Software-configurable traffic routing, without local cabling
- Designed for maximum uptime, minimum time to repair and a 30-year field MTBF
- Portal, an advanced Java-based maintenance tool presents local and remote node status with performance monitoring, configuration control and diagnostics
- ProVision element manager provides comprehensive management for small to large networks. Diagnostic tools include E1 circuit performance monitoring across multiple Eclipse nodes
- Automated commissioning and fault-finding routines support fast deployment and maintenance
Summary
Eclipse enables you to extend your network with the same platform from 10Mbps up to 1.6Gbps, varying from 1 up to 6 connections using the same indoor unit. Eclipse undoubtedly is the most flexible product on the market of licensed connections. This is mainly to be ascribed to the capacity and frequency independent indoor units and the use of the INU with the plug-in cards allowing you to combine all possible interfaces. Buying an upgrade is buying a new license that unlocks the extra capacity.
Eclipse can never be the wrong choice that will block you in the future!
