Proxim Tsunami MP.11 Series 5054-R-LR
As the public demand for immediate remote broadband access increases, service providers and municipalities are faced with the challenge to provide timely, cost-effective and reliable broadband access to their customers, regardless of the customer’s location.
Proxim’s Tsunami MP.11 product family offers fixed and mobile WiMAX capabilities to distribute wireless broadband access supporting video, voice and data applications today. The Proxim Tsunami MP.11 range of products comprises outdoor-proof units available in different frequency bands: the 2.4 GHz, 5.3 GHz and 5.8 GHz unlicensed frequency bands and the 4.9 GHz licensed frequency band restricted for public safety and today not yet available outside the US. The 4.9 GHz band, however, is expected to cross the Atlantic and to boom in Europe in the coming years providing a separate frequency for ambulance, police and fire services.
New in this highly successful product family are the Long Range (LR) units. One base station unit (BSU) and two subscriber unit (SU) versions are available, as is shown in the table below.
5054-BSUR-LR Tsunami MP.11 Model 5054-R-LR High Power, Base Station Unit with Type-N Connector
5054-SUA-LR Tsunami MP.11 Model 5054-R-LR High Power, Subscriber Unit with Type-N Connector
5054- SUR -LR Tsunami MP.11 Model 5054-R-LR High Power, Subscriber Unit with Integrated 23-dBi Antenna
Compared to the classic™ 5054-R units, the difference with the long range products is that they get the maximum out of your system. The legally allowed maximum output power of 30 dB EIRP is attained thanks to the new radio enabling a 23 dB output power supplemented by a 9 dB omnidirectional antenna.
The enhanced receive sensitivity makes for an enormous improvement of the range as compared to the past. In point-to-multipoint settings, the range is improved by 2.45 km (1.6 mile), while in point-to-point environments, the benefit is even more: 4 km (2.5 mile).
