In 2006, Multicap confirmed its steady growth from the last years, a positive tendency that is enhanced by the positive climate that wireless technology is in. Allow us to come back one more time on last year flavoured with numerous exhilarating projects realised in cooperation with our partners. We don't send you - our valued contacts - this overview to brag and to stand still, but to let it be an inspiration for future wireless challenges to overcome. For indeed, some of the past projects already showed that wireless possibilities are virtually unlimited. Undoubtedly, this tendency will be continued in 2007!
THE COMMBOX Our most important realisation is a product that is totally ours: the CommBox. This 8-port communication gateway - modularly expandable for GPS, GPRS, WiFi (dual-radio) - today serves in public transport in Romania and The Netherlands centralising and optimising all communication in and around buses, etc. In the near future, other countries and markets are about to be conquered! Apart from the CommBox, we also realised public transport projects in Utah, Mulhouse, Oslo and Stockholm and this in a tight cooperation with our public transport integrators! OUTDOOR WLAN More than ever, Multicap was the preferred provider of outdoor WLAN units for the set-up of point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations. Our partners managed to convince the local (police) authorities for camera surveillance networks in the cities of Knokke, Antwerp, the Belgian West Coast, etc. In 2006, we also managed to provide 4 business-critical licensed links between the Belgian airports of Antwerp and Charleroi-Brussels South. The Belgian Federal Home Office much to its satisfaction is using a laser link between two of its buildings. Eventually, one of the biggest successes in this business domain that Multicap could celebrate in 2006, was the deployment of a huge wireless network on the campuses of the neighbouring Brussels VUB and ULB universities. The network is a fine example of how WiMAX, Wi-Fi and MESH technology can be combined. TRACK&TRACE Multicap succeeded in its ambition to expand its activities in the track & trace market segment. Among others, we equipped one of the largest Belgian courrier companies with several hundred units of two kinds: one 'classic' device and one rugged unit in money transport vehicles. MOBILE SOLUTIONS Mobile solutions increasingly prove to be a very valuable business. We specialised in enterprise-class solutions such as UMTS cards, HSDPA modems and alerting and notification solutions for critical environments. This last product attracts customers from numerous sectors such as the automotive sector, the chemical industry, the hotel industry, the food distribution, the NATO and even a dating agency! TELEPHONY In 2005, we became the new official distributor of Funkwerk FEC (formerly known as Elmeg) telephony products. In 2006, we already managed to enlarge our dealer network from 18 to 29 dealers totalling a turnover that was 2,5 times that of 2005! More and more, we are engaged in cross-selling here: the idea is to sell our small-enterprise telephone centrals and VoIP-enabled system telephones as add-on to our integrated total wireless solution involving voice, data, video, etc. 2007 Evidently, we hope and expect to do at least as good as last year! By continuing on the present trail that we are following and by increasing our level of service. We do so by providing an already available new company brochure that is product-independent and by providing an increasing number of product leaflets under our own banner (Funkwerk T484 PABX, Multicap CommBox, etc.). And by staying ahead of the pack when it comes to technical expertise! For, what differentiates us from the rest remains the same: whenever wireless projects and challenges are not feasible without in-depth knowledge and creativity, Multicap is your only partner left!
